if you’re curious, it is the take-a-break album between “2012″ and “Codename” which will train and exercise very wisely. a few demos exist on the internet, but will not be accurately represented like this by the time the new piece of gear arrives.

this will be the last post in the WordPress style format.  look for a new website to surface in the next few weeks approximate. this should be a smooth transition, from low-budget self-authored to something more pro, to get the point across that Arcane Addiction is a serious force not to mess with.

some random ideas and stuff that I’m tweaking around with.  this is in fact for the next album since I’m digging how it kind of comes out sounding.  just a few more tweaks and flesh it out a little more, and it should be good to roll.  for now, this is where it’s at.

Also, to let you know, this website is going to get a huge overhaul very soon indeed.  Something has come up where it will be required, so some of the studio sessions will probably be halted until later on this year, depending on how much work I have to do and how fast I have to get it done.  So in my spare time, I’ll be piecing things together and getting it up to where I want to be.  Until then, try subscribing to the RSS feed or just read this as you see it.

I’ll be doing 2 studio sessions this month only for the time being.  My mother will be visiting from out of town for a month, so it’s kind of important that I visit with her when and while I can.  After all the studio sessions are done, all the general ideas in music will be done, and that will give me room to update the sounds later when I acquire a Line 6 Pod X3 (which will be very soon.)

Studio sessions will pick up again in October 2008.

While the calendar idea goes in effect, I’ll be writing some stuff to upload to click and read so you can get some entertaining details about how I go about doing my work, and either how lazy/slow or fast/productive I tend to get.

Keep in mind, this is an experimental thing while I wait to work on developing the website’s look/feel during September.  In the meantime, enjoy browsing backwards to the last post to get 2 files from me direct, both MP3 and MIDI formats.  For all other intents and purposes, please visit my MySpace page or my SoundClick page.

Oh, and one final thing before I wind up disappearing…

If you care about music deeply, you will go to http://www.myspace.com/mrmime55, an artist by the name of Mr. Mime from Portland OR.  If you have a MySpace account, send him a message.  That message is this:  do not sell music that you do not own at all.  sell your own music, but don’t sell someone else’s that you never had any part of.

The reason why I say this, is because “Melt Away,” “Vagabon,” and “Dream” are three songs that solely were created by my friend SlayerX of Steel Abyss.  He never released the songs, but I heard them before that guy EVER did, and I know the guy NEVER took part in the production and recording of all three songs.  There is another questionable one called “Suffocation of Dreams” which I may personally request to SnoCap to allow me access to in terms that all 3 songs and the 1 in question are in fact under a creative commons license infringement at the least to say, and if they have sold and made any financial payment to the guy, that also qualifies as a criminal theft case in which the “artist” is stealing from another person and selling for a profit.

Kind of like if I were to listen to one of the greater bands in Portland and take their MP3 and sell it on my website, and nobody knew who it was until someone caught wind of it.  It’s morally wrong, and I hope you care enough about music and true artists to actually take a stand to something like this.  After submitting this, I will personally be sending a message as well.

the first digital short demo idea for the upcoming Codename: Prophecies project.

Featuring a good friend of mine, Joe Becker (Plucked, Pads, FL Slayer Solos), this project deems itself as the first actual project that will be worked on starting August 11th, 2008.  The digital representation itself will translate to the real audio spectrum with a more dynamic drum beat and more intricate use of notation.

Before the official full length gets posted here (which will be on the front page here), there will be some working and approvals of ideas between the two of us.  So for now, enjoy the idea that this holds.  There may be a few things I incorporated that I will have to drop out of the final mix, and I’m pleased to say the song itself is coming along nicely as a collaborative effort!

Originally, I laid the drum beat down and the bass line and a couple other things, and Joe came in with the Plucked channels and the Slayer Solo thing, and my god, it FIT so perfectly to the idea, that this collab will no doubt be one of the amazing ones I’ve seen in my lifetime.

“Codename: Prophecies” will be released in 2009 alongside “Medusa Computer”, a videogame music cover album.

The website will be updated in the near future with a one-blog-a-day interface with the same skin.  There will be something new each day, each week, each month, up until the completion of works.  (disclaimer: not every single day, but will do the best possible)

Until then, I have to go enjoy my 2nd day of being 25 years of age now, and do responsible and irresponsible things.

I don’t know how long it’ll take this time around, but I’m hoping the process is fairly more easier and as well more closer to home this time.  It’s a struggle but it’s worth it.

I probably WILL cap off links if the bandwidth exceeds the monthly in which I’d get charged for, and the possibility of me paying out-of-pocket to cover the expenses doesn’t work.  Until then though, GUILT FREE DOWNLOADS!!!  GO DO THY BIDDING!

The first big deal is the beginning of the next project, codename “Prophecies”.  It begins in bits and pieces starting in October 2008.  A majority of the project itself will be many old songs I wrote between 1997 and 2005.  So prepare for the idea of stuff I wrote that’s way too fucking simple.  The other half of the project will include a bunch of newer songs in which will be a little more elaborate.

The second part of this posting.  I will be as well putting together ideas from now until sometime in early August.  They are mostly going to be very brutal in nature, but very nostalgic.  Something I’ve wanted to do after hearing so many other great people do it themselves.  I’ve already done a little bit in it, and I hope to do more.  That’s what this next month or two alone will bring.  All I will say right now, is “Bound to The Earth (Four Sides)” and “Chrono Tyrano (Time Trigger)”.

The last but not least, and this news I’m VERY excited for.  Note the bold print emphasis.  Year 200X, from Lansing MI, has something in store for you guys, and I’m feeling honored as fuck to be taking a part in this to an extent.  IF things go the way I’m thinking they will, and believing they will, Tim of Y2X will be calling me tomorrow or in the next week or so to discuss the ideas, options, and list of requirements or whatever may be on the agenda.

This is going to be a very productive time for me, and I want to thank everyone who has listened to “The Occult” in it’s entirety and took it’s message in both literal and non-literal senses.  It means the world to me that one of the biggest accomplishments I wanted in my life now exists, and that I can share it with the world in a sense.  I know it may not be the greatest/brightest thing to some, but I want to do more for people who are in tune with what AA has yet to bring, and that will happen next year, guaranteed.

For now, I update you with that.  I have a bunch of shit in life going on right now that I would personally like to tend to and see through before I continue with anything else.

Until then, keep your heads on and look forward to the future.  It will be very exciting in many many ways all in it’s own!
