In April 2004, I started Arcane Addiction as a means of experimenting with music, and having a chance to learn every aspect there is to know about instruments and orchestration of songs. It gave me the chance to learn how much creativity goes into one song alone, and how one person alone can write without restraints. It has been the gateway to me for working with other people on their music, so that their creative voices could be heard, or to add a flavor to their own.
I am self-educated. I never took any professional lessons to learn how to play guitar or piano. I took all the time in the world that I had in practicing what I wanted to play. I’ve played Piano primarily for over 11 years now, Guitar and Bass for about 10, and Programming has been one of the more important roles of writing. That has been 12 years in learning. Starting somewhere in 2004, I decided to try doing Vocals. I never trained myself, but with an ear for other’s vocal styles and key, I taught myself how to match in perfect pitch or in harmonic structures.
As a solo musician, my main goal is to write music that people can connect to, to write music that can have an impact on people and make them see things in a different light. Music through our lifetime has always been considered a manipulator of sorts. Not to say that it is bad, but it can be a great thing. Think of those songs that are soft and mellow. They bring a tear to your eyes or bring back a sad memory. Think of those songs that are hard, heavy and aggressive. They make you think about rebelling against the norm. But the commonality between both sides is, is that music is the soother of the soul. It is where we all as people connect in one way, shape, or form.
As Arcane Addiction, most of what I write about stems from perspective in both the physical and non-physical world. Ideas in this world that are tangible, such as relationships, friendships, opinions, and everything else you are clearly able to see and hear, are part of the physical realm that I write about. In terms of non-physical, the only thing that limits you from reaching to the greatest depths in search for answers and understanding, is your mind and subconscious.
In my growing ages, I’ve had a pretty typical upbringing. As an adult, I feel I’ve been leading a very entertaining and decent life, despite the roadblocks and obstacles we all are served. The music I write mostly is a reflection of where I’ve come from and where I intend to go.
